Digital literacy is a right for every child and teenager
Digital literacy helps children and teenagers grow safely in a connected world. Young people spend a significant amount of time on digital platforms today. The internet offers great tools for learning. It also presents serious risks to young users. Digital safety training is a core part of modern child protection. Our workshop set out to bridge the knowledge gap for these 30 young individuals. We wanted to teach them how to enjoy the benefits of technology while staying completely safe from online harm.
A partnership rooted in child protection
In August 2024, Digital Kala organized a Digital Awareness Session for the youth of the Chautari Youth Club (CYC), part of Umbrella Organization Nepal. CYC is a dedicated child protection organization that works to support and safeguard children. A total of 30 young participants attended the interactive session. The session was led by Digital Kala team members Dipa Rai and Aastha Acharya. Unika Karmacharya supported the program throughout the afternoon.
