Digital literacy and cybersecurity are no longer just for tech professionals
At Digital Kala, we believe these are critical life skills for every career sector. Nowhere is that clearer than in health. Nepal's healthcare ecosystem is undergoing a rapid digital transformation, and public health professionals now handle more sensitive data than ever: community health datasets, national medical statistics, and electronic health records.
A single digital vulnerability can compromise patient trust and harm institutional integrity. So this session was tailored to connect healthcare administration with data privacy, to make sure these future health leaders are equipped to protect the information in their care.
A partnership with the public health community
In April 2024, Digital Kala partnered with the Nepal Public Health Students Welfare Society (NPHSWS) to host the session at the Central Department of Public Health (CDPH). This department is part of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) at Tribhuvan University. The session brought together around 45 enthusiastic Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) students for an interactive, high-impact afternoon. It was facilitated by Aastha Acharya and Dipa Rai.
